Primary and Secondary Education
- Senior Secondary Certificate of Education
Primary education consists of year 1 to year 6 or 7 depending on the state of Australia and secondary education can finish at year 10 or year 12. Australian students are required by law to complete until year 10. Students who intend to apply to universities after completing year 10 continues study to year 12. On completing year 12 students take Higher School Certificate exam to receive ATAR (stands for: Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) which they need for admission to universities.

- Advanced Diploma (1.5 ~ 2years)
College courses including certificate III, IV, diplomas and advanced diplomas are divided into two groups, the courses provided by the private college and the course delivered through TAFE. College courses focus on practical and professional education complimented by theory lessons.
- Foundation (1year)
Foundation courses have been designed to give opportunity to students who have completed/studying secondary education in overseas to prepare for Australian university courses. In foundation courses, international students can build basic knowledge about their major and familiarise with Australian education. Also, international students can improve their English skills. Upon successful completion of foundation course, students can enrol into university course.

- Graduate Diploma (6months ~ 1year)
- Master Degree (1~2years)
- Doctoral Degree (usually 3 years)
In Australia, there are about 39 universities and bachelor degrees are usually 3 years. Bachelor courses commence study usually in February and finish in December. Commonly there are two semesters in a year but depending on the course, students can enroll either in February or July. Australian master degree courses are divided into master’s degree by coursework and master’s degree by Research. Master’s degree course duration stretches from 1 year to 2 years. Student can enrol in master’s degree by coursework in February intake and July intake. Student can enrol in master’s degree by research regardless of the intake date. PhD courses are provided after completing master’s degree course.
